When Christmas comes around it is easy to get lost in the festivities and forget to look after yourself and your body. It’s important to look after yourself during this time so that you can enjoy the season fully with your friends and families.

Here are some tips from our practice to you on how to look after yourself during this festive season.

 

  1. Eat Healthy

With Christmas comes a lot of sweets, cookies, and treats. While it is okay to indulge now and again, it is important to still try and stick to a healthy meal plan. Make sure to get in enough fruit and veggies.

  1. Keep up with your exercise routine

Just because it is the holidays is not a good enough reason to skip your exercise routine. In fact, it should give you more time and energy to do it! If you are not home for the holiday then find other ways to do your exercise, such as taking a walk along the beach, or doing some bodyweight exercise in your hotel room.

  1. Get some sleep

Don’t deprive yourself of sleep this festive season! It has been a long and tiring year and our bodies need rest. Take the opportunity to catch up on some sleep, and allow your body to re-set

  1. De-stress yourself

This time of the year is filled with many stressful situations. From Christmas shopping, to dealing with family, to unwelcome messages from work when you are away. If you feel yourself getting stressed or anxious, take some time for yourself to de-stress. Find a quiet place and do some meditation or yoga.

 

We can get so wrapped up in the celebrations during the holidays that we forget to take good care of ourselves. Don’t forget to take good care of your body so you can start the new year off right!
